Jessica de Villiers uses vivid block colour with expressive mark and text to create scenes rooted in the mundane and everyday. The interplay of this imagery creates stages for the examination of how broader issues such as trauma and connection are present in all aspects of life. Through the diaristic presentation of these concerns, the audience is invited on a journey reflecting on these presented emotions and concerns in order to open a dialogue fundamentally rooted in encouraging interpersonal connection.

Jessica studied BA(Hons) Fine Art at Arts University and graduated in 2022 receiving a 1st Class degree.

They currently live and work in Southampton, England.
